Spring has arrived! It's time to celebrate! Here are five fun ways to celebrate this beautiful season with your dog.
1. Take a Hike
Hiking with your dog can be a great activity for getting some exercise after a long winter. Explore new trails that lead to places where you can enjoy nature and your pup can sniff and smell the fresh scents of spring.
2. Plan a Spring Photo Shoot
Plan a photo shoot in your backyard, forest, or a park. Spring and its blooming flowers serve as stunning photo backdrops. Or, take spring pictures of your dog with Easter eggs and bunny ears. Try taking shots in burst mode to capture a variety of emotions that will result in spring images full of funny and unforgettable moments. If your pup loves to model, dress her or him up in spring attire and let them put their best paws forward. Be creative with your photo shoot ideas and maybe your pooch will become Insta-famous.
3. Spring Cleaning
At-home spa day: Pups love to be pampered, and grooming provides an opportunity to spend quality time together. Plan a spa day that includes the works: Soft music, bath, pet-icure, teeth-brushing, ear cleaning, and massage.
4. Back yard Bark-B-Q
A backyard Bark-B-Q is a fun celebration for the entire family. Its perfect for organizing doggy races and other canine activities. And, there is nothing more inviting than the aroma of food cooking on the grill. Get all the details for creating a fun Backyard Bark-B-Q in Diva Dogs: A Style Guide to Living the Fabulous Life.
5. Pack A Picnic
Spring is a great time for picnics, and the inclusion of your pup makes it extra special. Find a pet-friendly location for your picnic. Pack an easy meal for human family members: a sandwich, a piece of fruit, a handful of veggies, and a sports bottle full of fresh lemonade make a great outdoor meal. Pack your pet’s usual food. Be sure to keep your dog away from common picnic foods that are dangerous to your dog including chicken with bones in it, alcohol, grapes, raisins, chocolate, onions, and avocados. Remember to pack a blanket and plenty of water.
