Basic Dog Biscuits

This recipe allows for multiple add-ins and substitutions in case the dog has an allergy. Bacon or chicken broth, eggs, oats, liver powder, wheat germ, shredded cheese and bacon bits are all optional add-ins. Whole wheat flour can be replaced with regular flour or oats, and beef bouillon can be substituted with beef stock or broth, or chicken broth/stock.

Cook Time: 30 min.

Ready In: 35 min.

Ingredients:

• 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
• 1 tsp. salt, or less
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp. beef or chicken bouillon granules
• 1/2 cup hot water

1. Preheat oven

Preheat the oven to 350 F.

1. Dissolve bouillon

Put the bouillon in the hot water and allow it to dissolve.

1. Make the dough

Add the whole wheat flour, salt, egg and any substitutions.

1. Knead the dough

Knead the dough into a ball, which should take about 3 minutes.

1. Cut the dough

Use a cookie cutter to cut up the dough into shapes.

1. Bake the biscuits

Put the dough on a cookie sheet, then bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Allow to cool.
