You probably have a list of goals for this new year. Don't want to see the same list next year? Let's do this! Here are five tips to help make your New Year's resolutions, and your dog's a reality:

  1. Write them down. Then post the list in a place where you'll see it often. Every two or three months, review the list and note yours and your dog's progress.
  2. Keep the list short. Taking on too much can be overwhelming.
  3. Set a goal to commit for 21 days. Research has shown it takes around three weeks to establish a new habit.
  4. Take small steps. Break down yours and your dog's goals, into realistic steps.
  5. Reward yourself and your dog when a goal is achieved.
